05 Doing Toughest thing first
In this blog I am taking a slight detour from discussing pure technical stuff
In today's high stress work environment, we always have tons of pending tasks and tons of choices. You'll have tasks with different prioirity levels like * Super Urgent * Urgent * Normal and severity levels like * Existential threat to Job/Business * Due by EOD * Can be done tomorrow.
Out of these multiple tasks the natural tendency is to take easiest task and do it and feel good about it. Most of the time with tasks 80/20 rule applies. If you have 5 tasks, and you do 4 tasks and feel good about it. Chances are that you have achieved only 20% results with it. Why? Because the task which looks toughest to do mostly impact 80% results. So simple forumla for success. "Do the Toughest thing first" |
